My internship & great memories😊

My internship has started on the 23rd of November. I was very looking forward to doing this opportunity since I came here. I felt the first week was so long but learning new thing and meeting new people are so exciting and enjoylable. I'm data entry, check and some other office work. I am not good at Excel so it was quite challenging for me however my supervisor teaches me slowly. He tries to give me a different tasks everyday. I found people in the company seems to enjoy thier job or what they do. In Japan, people often get so much stressed because of thier work. People in my company are very opened and opened.
The time in Australia has been passed so quickly. I went to many places on holidays. Every time I went to the beach, I laid on the bath towel there and got so much sunburn. I think it's very nice experience because I cannot do it in Japan. I had many housemates from other countries and had very good friendship with them. I really love living here in Brisbane. l just don't want
to go home. I am sure that I will miss everything I have done here.

Roommates & Surpurise

I had three roommates, two girls from China and a girl from Hong Kong. The time we spent together was so short but we got along well and are good friends. They told me some Cantonese and Mandarin but I found it difficult to remember and pronounce them.

At the beginning of August, we planned to make a cake for our host mum's birthday and kept it as a secret until her birthday. We told our host parents that we were going to use the kitchen to cook for our friend. When we started to make it, our host mum showed up and started to help us because we were struggling to make it and were too noisy. Thanks to our host mum, we made the cake.
After the dinner time, we ran to the kitchen and put some strawberries and candles. Our host mum was surprised at the cake and looked happy with it.

Whale Watching

I went whale watching with my friend on the 16th of August in Gold Coast. I got up in the very early morning and took  a train to go there. It was about for 3 hours sailing and we saw many whales. They looked like greeting us by smacking its tail forcefully on the surface the water Humpbacks produced loud clapping sounds with big splash. It is called 'Tail Slap' and they disappeared somewhere. Humpback Whales have two blow holes, one for each lung. As the whale broke the surface of the water it exhaled and produced a long cloud of vapour. It was a first time for me to see whales with a short distance so we were impressed. People there told us that they also see dolphins and killer whales.

Trip to Melbourne

I went to Melbourne in a session break with my friends for 4 days. The weather was clouded almost all days and was much colder than here in Brisbane even though we brought a warm coat we all felt still cold. We strolled around the city and shopped a lot. I was so surprised that all shops have a large scale compare to Brisbane. Our friends who live in Melbourne took us to many places though our trip. We went to
Hosier Lone on the send day. It is a street art and  is a small cut through between Flinders Street and Flinders Lane, filled with regularly changing graffiti and a series of light boxes that exhibit the work of up and coming contemporary artists. We also went to Lindt chocolate store and bought lots of chocolate because this shop is only in Melbourne or in Sydney.
     At Queen Victoria Market

We found an insect on my friend's bed on the first day so we told about it to a hotel staff and he suggested us to move to a bigger room. The new room was very comfortable to stay.
We walked a lot in the daytime so we were very tired when we came back the hotel.

I had very nice meals and deserts there and good shopping.  I want to go to Melbourne again before I go back and hopefully visit Great Ocean Road.

May-June

Over 3 months have passed since I came to Brisbane. I feel time fried so fast. I've been studying in EAP1 course. We have many reading and writing class in a week. I sometimes find it difficult to write an essay for IELTS test but my teachers help me and give me useful techniques.
My teachers and classmates are so cheerful and nice. We have a funny rule in the class. If someone's phone make a sound in the class, we have to buy some chocolates for classmates. Interestingly, someone does it almost everyday so we can have Tim Tam very often when we don't have energy to study.

with my last classmates in the BBQ:)

Japanese food party on Queen's birthday:) SO MUCH FUN!

My new housemate came in the middle of June. She is from Hong Kong and will stay with us until August. We go to ICTE together every morning and often run to the train station because we are almost late for train. It's very nice to share our own cultures each other. I'm surprised that she knows about Japanese culture and history as well.

Holiday

I had a holiday from April 25th to May 3rd. I went to New Zealand to see my old host family. The last time I met them was last September so I was so excited to see them again.
I was able to book the flight ticket at cheaper price from Brisbane to Wellington it took me about for 4 hours to get there.

My host parents took me to many places, did many things together and told me about lots of things not just helping with my English when I was in New Zealand. I could do a lot of things which aren't easy to do in Japan. For example, I did horse riding, bungy jumping caught an animal in a trap and held a chicken and so on. I also love  the view was so beautiful because there were many sheep, cows and mountains. When it became night, we could see many beautiful stars.

When I came into their house, I felt like it is my second house ,it was so natural and relaxed to be there.
I went for a cycling and walk in the bush again, those are we used to do together when I was staying with them before.
I also visited to my high school I used to go to and was able to see some of my lovely teachers and friends. They were so surprised when they saw me because they didn't know about my visit.

I talked with my host parents about many things such as my family in Japan, my Japanese university and life in Brisbane. it was so nice to share the time with them and really really  enjoyed it so it was hard to say goodbye to them at the airport. I hope I can see them again before too long.

Last day of my first session

April 24

I had listening, reading and writing test on this day and felt the listening test was a little bit difficult for me.
In the afternoon, I went to  a barbecue for ICTE students and had a lunch with my classmates. I was very lucky to have nice friends and teachers in the class. It's sad that everybody will go to different courses in the next session.
